Game For A Lark

Helena Bonham Carter as a ‘Librarian’ in the video for “Out Of The Game”, by Rufus WainwrightRufus Wainwright’s new album, Out Of The Game, is due for release on April 23rd in the UK, and May 1st in the US… and he’s just posted the video for the lead single, starring none-other-than Helena Bonham Carter as a lonely librarian lip-synching to the song, while sadly wandering the stacks! According to a recent interview with Rufus, taken from The Sun: “We have been friends for years. Not only is she very beautiful, very glamorous, but she is also incredibly funny… So I very much appreciate her friendship for furthering my career”. Bless.

If I’m honest, I haven’t actually enjoyed a Rufus album since Release the Stars, and that was four years ago! This track hasn’t exactly set my ears on fire either, but I guess it could be a grower…? Either way, the video is very amusing, and I enjoyed HBC’s performance… especially in the final scene. Ahem.
