Bad News: The third season, which begins on January 13th, will be a swan-song for the “sketch-uational” comedy show, as creator/star Nick Kroll explained to Vulture: “It just became clear that we wrapped up a lot of the stories and characters that we had created, and felt like we had brought a number of them to their natural conclusion. So, as opposed to stringing out more seasons, we wanted to feel like we were going out with the best work that we’ve done.” Gotta respect that.
Good News: Jenny Slate, Chelsea Peretti, Samantha Futerman, Amy Poehler, and Kristen Schaal will all be guesting in various guises across the season.
Even Gooder News: Next week sees the release of the first two seasons on DVD (with bonus music videos, extended scenes, and audio commentaries!), as well as a full digital album of songs recorded by the show’s cast (titled “Kroll Show: For The Record”)… just in time for Xmas/Hanukkah! Hurrah!
